The Psychology of Conspiracy Theories with Brendan Hickey – This presentation looks at the psychology of conspiracy theories: why they are appealing, how they resemble scientific theories, and who is more likely to believe them. It also connects to some of the common cognitive biases.

Afraid of Numbers: Why Math Anxiety is so Pervasive with Shyam Kulkarni – What is it about mathematics that makes people so nervous? In this talk, Shyam will discuss how Math Anxiety has become a pervasive part of American Society, how it limits the growth of current students, and what we can and should be doing to reduce it and improve our own relationships with mathematics

Till Death Do Us Part: Chang and Eng Bunker with Kellyn Toombs – Ever wonder where the term “Siamese Twins” came from? Chang and Eng Bunker, who were indeed born in Siam, were perhaps the most famous conjoined twins of all time. They broke 19th century social barriers and challenged stereotypes about race and disability, but were always haunted by one lifelong question: Could we ever be medically separated? And, if so, do we want to be?

  • Tickets are $12 for non-members, and $8 for DelMNS and Wilmington Brew Works members. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science website. All ticket proceeds benefit the museum, helping the museum achieve their mission of inspiring a passion for science learning.
  • Advanced ticket sales stop at 4:00 p.m. on the day of the event (but you can purchase tickets at the door – card only, no cash).
  • There is free parking on site and the 025 bus stops right out front of Wilmington Brew Works.
