Nerd Nite is Wednesday, November 25 from 6-8:30 p.m.
November’s presentations include:
- How to do a Nerd Nite talk with Matt McGraw: Matt has been to every single Wilmington Nerd Nite, come hear his thoughts on what makes a good Nerd Nite talk and what doesn’t.
- Speculation From the Year 20XX: A Look at How One Franchise Tried to Predict the Future with Phillip Simpson: Media has a long history of trying to predict what tomorrow looks like. They often get it wrong in wild, hilarious ways. But sometimes they get it right in equally wild, hilarious ways. This presentation looks at one early 2000s videogame series that predicted the nature of our technological, terminally online world better than most, all just before the invention of the smartphone.
- Be Gay. Do Crime. Become Roman Emperor: How A Sexy Stable Boy Saltburned the Roman Empire with Sante Mastriana: Have you ever thought to yourself: I’m too hot and too gay for this increasingly theocratic and authoritarian society? Well, Basil, a fetching 9th Century stable boy sure did, and he decided if you can’t beat them, RULE THEM – and no boyfriends, girlfriends, nor illiteracy would stand in his way!
About Nerd Nite Wilmington
- Tickets are $12 for non-members, and $8 for DelMNS and Wilmington Brew Works members. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science website. All ticket proceeds benefit the museum, helping the museum achieve their mission of inspiring a passion for science learning.
- Advanced ticket sales stop at 4:00 p.m. on the day of the event (but you can purchase tickets at the door – card only, no cash).
- There is free parking on site and the 025 bus stops right out front of Wilmington Brew Works.
- Wilmington Brew Works is located at 3129 Miller Rd, Wilmington, DE 19802.
- Must be 21+ to attend this event!
